This was a rather quiet week. Spent most of the week on the computer, designing web pages  and learing HTML. For those of you who are not familliar with web design HTML is the code that is used to program web pages.
Went out for a run yesterday, had to get some exercise after all this sitting infront of the computer... don't want secretarial spread to set in.
Spoke with Mark today, he's been layed up with a terrible sinus infection, went to his inner ears too so he can barely hear. Mom and Dad were at his house today cleaning his yard, while Mark  was in bed watching Andy Griffeth! Quite a scene.
We have plans to go to an Indian restaurant with Amarfireman.gif (3500 bytes) tomorrow. He is the young man from India that John works with. Looking forward to something HOT AND SPICY! Hopefully there will be something mild for John..
We plan on going to the 1.50 theater here in town tonight...think "Analyze This" is playing. Free refils on soda and popcorn. BIG date night.

Happy 17 mai to all you norwegians out there!
Paparazi.wmf (21612 bytes)Yesterday was Fair Diddly here in town and we invited friends to diddle at the fair and come on over for pizza and  desert. We had about 12 people stop by over the day and had a real nice time. We ahd a beautiful day for the fair and the square was filled with people. I was out taking pictures, and got rather agrivated with people who told me I couldn't take pictures of their displays. They were afraid I was going to steal their crafter's ideas! Can you imagine- in a public fair, I am told that I can't take pictures in a open public event out on the street!!!   As you can imagine... I took them anyway.

Went with my friend Karen to the resale shop in Harvard today. We didn't have any luck with clothes, but I did get a couple of old books that have great illustrations in them. (Check out the thrift shop status page).  Now I look at everything and think " that would look nice on a web site".Director.wmf (27036 bytes)
After we went out to a coffee shop here in town and enjoyed some good conversation.
John and I went out tonight to the 1.50 movie here in town and saw EdTV. Great little theater where you get free refills on soda and popcorn! Where else can you find that? And only a block away.

Well I spent the entire day on the computer-- from about 8:00am till now-7:40pm! Eyes feel like they are about to pop. but I am determined to get this site up and running, even if it drives me into exhaustion!-- Well, how exhausted can you really get sitting in front of a computer all day? A little blind maybe.

John is practicing his drumming at church right now, and I guess I will have to think about dinner! If I can tear myself away from the computer... now I know what they joke about on TV when they show zombies in front of a computer, it's addictive.

We had a couple guys that work at Motorola over for dinner tonight. They are both from India. A long way from home and family. Very nice people, we had a lot of interesting conversations about their home and the difference in our cultures.
They are looking forward to their parents arranging their marriage. We were more than a little shocked to hear this, until they explained to how us how it really worked. Their parents really just help to find a wife. Both the guy and the girl have the final say, but it is not considered correct for a young man to approach a girl directly. The parents make introductions first, and get to know each other's family first. Maybe there would be alot of healthier marriages here if parents "helped" find the right girl. (or maybe not!) The important thing is that they feel it is important find the right girl because she is joining the boy's family. There is great importance in her coming from a respectable family, because the girl brings respect to the family she is entering.
We are all going to go to an Indian restaurant together soon--we have to see if we can get John to try some tandori or some other Indian dish!
